Abstract

Background. Strategic issues of a patient involvement in the processes of diagnosis and treatment in family medicine practice are considered. The purpose of the study is to substantiate the real paths for the development of patient participations in family medicine. Results. The readiness of the patient to participate in the process of medical care is shown to be determined by a number of factors, such as: a perception of the new role of the patient, an availability of simple but necessary medical knowledge of patient’s own health and the related internal confidence, taking into account the accompanying pathology and various socio-demographic parameters. Ontologized “capsules” of knowledge for individual coronation of the patient is proposed. The capsule allow the patient to easily obtain the necessary information about patient’s own state of health, but also to have an important interpretation of the data. In turn, data on the dynamics of the pathological process, as well as the regular use of prescribed medicines, are extremely important for the doctor. Creating reliable patient’s health monitoring becomes a real challenge. Electronic registration of the dynamics of patient's health indicators provides a fundamentally new mechanism in the procedures of protecting the rights of the family doctor and the patient, and the use of personalized "capsules" of knowledge creates an innovative strategy for their interaction. It’s considered the strategy of patient participation in family medicine as a new paradigm of patient management with integral consideration of patient-related factors. This implies acceptance of a new role of a patient, a level of medical knowledge about the disease of the patient, a degree of confidence of the patient in the correctness of diagnostic and therapeutic measures, accounting for the accompanying pathology, an impact of various socio-demographic parameters – an age, features of professional activity, etc. There is absolutely convinced that the listed parameters influence the patient's readiness to participate actively in the procedures of providing medical care, and, of course, its effectiveness. Conclusions. 1. The readiness of the patient to participate in the process of a health care is determined by a number of factors, such as: a perception of a new role of the patient, an availability of simple but necessary medical knowledge about patient’s own health and related internal confidence, taking into account a concomitant pathology and various socio-demographic parameters. 2. Patient partisition helps to solve the problems of a modern health monitoring and to protect the doctor’s and the patient’s rights. 3. The use of personalized “capsules” of knowledge (knowledge ontologies) creates an innovative strategy for family doctor and patient interaction.
